A long time ago, Hanioti was kind of mountainous area while the old village was destroyed after a big earthquake, thus today has turned into a popular and picturesque tourist resort. Some ruins that have been found around are claimed to come from the ancient city of Aeghai or Aegi. The settlement of Hanioti is one of the best holiday resorts in Halkidiki, providing all facilities needed, exciting nightlife, organized beaches, amazing landscapes, as well as many restaurants, beach bars and clubs.
This village on Halkidiki’s western peninsula has an old-fashioned feel, thanks to its winding streets and cafes square, complete with a little fountain. You will find at one end of the sands there’s a park lined with shade-giving pine trees.
